The Senior Business Analyst is part of the Services team. This is a team of highly motivated specialists with the specific skills and experience required to make sure that the implementation of our product at our customer’s location goes ahead as smoothly as possible. The Services department also provides product training and implementation support services to all of our customers and partners. Every project has its own set of unique challenges that must be overcome, and our team members must be able to think and react quickly to find a solution that works for everyone.
Our consultants work closely with partners and customers all over the world. They have the professional and personal skills required to develop, teach, support, and lead teams towards successfully delivering our enterprise solution and achieving their goals.
As part of the larger Services team you will report directly to the Chapter Lead of the MEA Hub.
What you'll do
As a Senior Business Analyst at Backbase, you will play a critical role in shaping innovative customer experience solutions for leading financial institutions. Partnering closely with our clients and cross-functional teams—including UX design and development—you will be at the forefront of analyzing, capturing, and prioritizing requirements that enhance our customers’ digital journeys.
In this position, you will be a trusted advisor to both clients and implementation partners. By thoroughly analyzing customer needs, you will help them define and prioritize new initiatives, always with a “product-first” approach to leverage the full potential of the Backbase platform. You’ll identify opportunities for product enhancements and features, providing best-practice guidance on how to make the most of our product’s capabilities. When customization is necessary, you will collaborate with Backbase R&D to explore all out-of-the-box options and propose solutions that align with the product roadmap.
Your role extends beyond requirements gathering; you will manage client expectations, helping them transform their vision into actionable project backlogs. As a subject matter expert in both the financial services industry and the Backbase product, you’ll lead engaging workshops to capture functional requirements, driving alignment between client needs and our platform's offerings.
In addition to your client-facing responsibilities, you’ll contribute to internal knowledge sharing by actively participating in the BA Chapter/Guild. You’ll also mentor and guide junior Business Analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

The Senior Business Analyst is expected to:
- Gather define and prioritize requirements of the project in close collaboration with the client;
- Run requirements definition workshops to help define customer’s Business requirements and business processes
- Write functional requirements using use case specifications or user stories;
- Perform business process gap analysis and manage requirement change;
- Act as "product owner" for the project to guide the team making the right choices to maximize project & customer success;
- Act as a trusted consultant to our clients and implementation partners to guide them to take the most optimal path with their implementation of the backbase product.
Who you are
You need to be an excellent communicator and feel comfortable interacting with stakeholders at various levels. Organizational and cultural sensitivity are a must.
Skills & knowledge:
Essential:
- University education and degree (preferable business or IT related);
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a business analysis role preferably in digital banking
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a client facing position;
- Experienced in requirements management;
- Experience with Business process modeling and notation and able to create process flows using BPMN tools (experience with Camunda preferable)
- Knowledge of multiple development methodologies, e.g. SCRUM, RUP, Kanban, Waterfall;
- Excellent written and verbal skills in English;
- Perseverance and pragmatism to solve complex problems;
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Ability to work in a multicultural and international environment;
- Extreme flexibility about work location and willingness to travel abroad frequently, sometimes for long periods of time.
- Certification associated: IIBA CCB.
- You enjoy visiting customers onsite and don't shy away to travel frequently;
- You have excellent oral and written communication skills in French, Arabic and English;
- You are based in Casablanca Morocco.
