As a Senior Solutions Architect within the Solutions group, your primary goal is to collaborate with clients in designing end-to-end solution architectures. Your expertise is instrumental in ensuring that conceptualized solutions translate into actionable realities. Operating with a client-centric approach, you adeptly engage in technical workshops and high-level sales presentations, utilizing your proficiency in crafting robust architectures.
Your capacity to distill intricate technical details and align them with tangible business objectives positions you as a pivotal figure in crafting innovative solutions. Your focus spans across security, deployment, performance, caching, sizing, scalability, and serviceability, ensuring comprehensive solutions meet client needs. Working closely with solutions engineers, you align client aspirations with tailored solutions, showcasing your leadership within the Solutions Engineering team and the broader Customer Advisory team.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead technical workshops and demonstrate expertise in solution design, delivery, testing, and deployment, for banking clients within the Financial Services sector. Advising clients on enterprise architecture, you contribute to their overarching strategies. Serving as a trusted advisor, you collaborate with clients' Enterprise Architects to shape architectural vision and establish program roadmaps, managing expectations and negotiating solutions.
Whether you talk to the board of directors, department heads or engineering teams, you turn every red light green. You love to travel and stay abroad. You will join prospects in their exploration of Backbase products, that will help them to achieve their digital ambitions. As an all-round expert on digital architecture, digital transformations and associated technologies, to leading workshops and generating feedback. Your performance blows each prospect off its feet. And we do need a little extra more.

Who you are
- You have 10+ years of work experience as a solutions architect for a leading product/platform in the financial services industry. However, a can-do mentality is of more importance than many years of the perfect experience;
- You have experience with Spring, Maven and Jenkins;
- You have a demonstrable understanding of Micro-Services Architecture and are familiar with architectural patterns, such as Microservices, CQRS, and event sourcing;
- You know JavaScript frameworks, MVC patterns, and principles of REST APIs;
- You know popular Mobile technologies including Swift and Kotlin.
- You have a strong knowledge of containerisation platforms including Docker and Kubernetes;
- You have a great knowledge of security best practices and technologies such as Identity and Access Control platforms.
- Ideally you have worked professionally with Enterprise Integration Patterns and Frameworks;
- And let’s not forget your broad, operational knowledge of application servers, databases, load balancers and other infrastructure components required to deploy web applications in a highly available and scalable environment;
- You have experience with server virtualization and container technology such as Docker, VMWare, and HyperV;
- You have professionally used Integration Platforms, Enterprise Service Busses, API Gateways, etc.
- You have experience and knowledge working with major cloud vendors, especially Azure and AWS.
- You are smart and digital savvy. A true team player with a sense of humor, hands-on and self-motivated, able to drive progress and hit deadlines;
- Your strong interpersonal and communication skills ensure successful customer engagements across multiple teams & cultures
You have excellent English speaking, writing, and presentation skills, as well as a strong ability to persuade, inspire, and motivate others;
- You’re happy to distill complex ideas into digestible formats for varied audiences, either prepared or ad-hoc at the white-board.
- You see opportunity in problems rather than roadblocks and thrive on problem solving internally as well as with customers;
- You have the ability to prioritize and plan effectively with a demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and in ambiguity. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and stay flexible and adaptable to growth and change.
- You are as comfortable speaking with developers and architects as you are with business executives.
