As a Product Manager for the Backbase Design System, you are the pivotal orchestrator of our
design system, ensuring its consistent application and evolution across our UX, Mobile and Web
teams. You are the champion of design consistency and efficiency, driving the adoption and
enhancement of our design system to empower our Engagement Banking Platform.

What you'll do
You’ll join our dynamic product team as a dedicated Product Manager. Your primary
responsibility will be to own and drive the strategy and roadmap for our design system, ensuring it meets the needs of our diverse development teams. You'll facilitate collaboration and alignment across our Figma, Android, iOS, and Angular teams, fostering a culture of design excellence and efficiency.
You’ll frequently collaborate with designers, engineers, the product organization and customers to gather requirements, prioritize features, and ensure the design system effectively supports our product goals. You will also be responsible for communicating updates, providing training, and advocating for the design system throughout the organization.
What you'll do
- Define and Drive the Design System Roadmap: Develop and maintain a clear vision and roadmap for the design system, prioritizing features based on user needs and business goals;
- Drive Design System Strategy with Metrics: Leverage key metrics to inform strategic decision-making, measure the design system's effectiveness, and identify areas for Improvement;
- Facilitate Collaboration and Alignment: Working with UX, iOS, Android, and Angular teams to ensure the design system meets their needs and promotes consistency across Platforms;
- Manage Design System Components and Documentation: Oversee the creation, maintenance, and documentation of design system components, ensuring they are accessible and easy to use;
- Gather and Analyze User Feedback: Collect feedback from designers and engineers to identify areas for improvement and inform the design system roadmap;
- Conduct Design System Audits and Assessments: Regularly evaluate the design system's effectiveness and identify opportunities for optimization;
- Communicate Design System Updates and Best Practices: Provide training and
documentation to ensure the design system is effectively used across the organization;
- Advocate for Design System Adoption: Promote the benefits of the design system and drive its adoption throughout the product development process;
- Stay Up-to-Date with Design System Trends: Research and evaluate emerging design system trends and best practices to ensure our design system remains cutting-edge.
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, or a related field;
- 3+ years of experience in product management;
- Background in design principles, user experience, or frontend development;
- Experience working with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD;
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously;
- Experience working with agile development teams and understanding of development workflows.
